Dear Valued Customer,
Due to ongoing drought conditions in our region, Bethany Special Utility District is requesting that all customers voluntarily conserve water under Stage 1 Drought conditions. Although our water supply remains available, conserving water now will help protect our community’s resources and reduce the possibility of mandatory restrictions if drought conditions worsen.
We encourage all customers to help conserve water by following these practices:
- Limit outdoor lawn and landscape watering to what is necessary.
- Water during the early morning or late evening to reduce evaporation.
- Avoid watering during or immediately after rainfall.
- Check for and promptly repair leaks in faucets, toilets, irrigation systems, and outdoor spigots.
- Run dishwashers and washing machines only with full loads whenever possible.
- Turn off the faucet while brushing your teeth or shaving.
- Use a broom instead of a hose to clean driveways, sidewalks, and patios.
- Wash vehicles only when necessary and, when possible, use a commercial car wash that recycles water.
- Consider using drought-tolerant plants and mulch to reduce outdoor water needs.
- Monitor irrigation systems to ensure water is not running onto streets, sidewalks, or other paved areas.
Every gallon saved helps preserve our water supply for residential needs, businesses, emergency services, and other essential community uses. By working together now, we can help maintain reliable service and avoid more restrictive drought response measures in the future.
